Majestic Prince ep23: I’m the hero… probably

I hope the GDF didn’t expect this battle to be won easily. Having tried everything from range, and coming up empty on results, Earth’s forces are somewhat left imp and deflated by the beginning of this episode. Even the most elite of elite, the mightiest of the mighty, Team Rabbits is unable to make much of a dent in the Wulgaru wall in front of the interstellar gate. This is clearly one of those “darkest before dawn” situations, and things are only going to get worst since Prince Jiart has grown weary of waiting.

I’d say it’s rudimentary to declare that things aren’t going as planned as we start this episode. Think of it as a matter of just plain bad timing. As the operation commences, Team Rabbits bumps right into the Wulgaru mega force just as they leave the gate. It’s a bit close for comfort, but the Wulgaru are incidentally right in the way of the operation. On the positive side for Earth though, they’re hardly expecting a fight, and this is looking possibly like a game of rugby, with the roughest and toughest attempting to push their way to the goal.

On Holiday: Labor Day Anime Special pt1 (Majestic Prince, C3-bu & Love Lab)

I’m going to do something a little different this week, since I planned on having fun on Labor Day – a day to celebrate working people.  I decided to take it easy this past weekend, and cover the usual anime in shorter fashion.  Well, I won’t totally stick to that. If i’m particularly inspired then some of these may be longer. But for now, I’m gonna do a “Week in Review” type of post for this weekend for some shows. Starting with Majestic Prince episode twenty one.

Majestic Prince ep20: thick like blood

Well, this is a sobering state of affairs. But I won’t complain. I’ve seen too many shows where significant character deaths have been glossed over, trivialized or not paid the proper respect (ZZ I’m looking at you). With but one member of Team Doberman left, and likely retired, we and the cast are left to reflect on them, for what little screen-time their memories have left. Majestic Prince ep18 & 19: will you live to see your legacy?

As excited as I was for episode 18, I had no idea the turn the story was going to take going into 19.  The heights of victory are so easily slapped down and forgotten by the next day’s defeat.  Or maybe the more appropriate term would be loss.  Majestic Prince episodes 18 and 19 are two more steps towards this series being one of the more exciting, well-rounded and quality mecha series of the decade.

Majestic Prince ep17: a race thru the Earth’s atmosphere!

It is impossible to contain my hype for this episode!  A slow build up to almost Eva-style tension and drama, with pure mecha goodness and eye candy throughout most every minute of it!

The Wulgaru’s objective has been sniffed out. MJP knows that they’re headed for the Cosmopolitan Academy, but none of that matters if they can’t catch up to the small unit speeding towards the school. And this is where Team Rabbits comes in, while Black-6 is sent to hold the line with the regular forces and Team Doberman, they’ll be sent at top speed to intercept the raid party before they enter the atmosphere.

Majestic Prince ep15 & 16: to lose oneself to battle, or to one’s self

It’s time to catch up on one of my favorite shows of 2013!  I can’t believe I fell behind on this, of all shows!  Though I gotta say, if anyone was expecting this show to slow down at all for any more character development, you’re quite wrong!  Any character development that wants to hop onto this moving train is going to have to sprint and jump.  Majestic Prince slows down for no one!

Wow! And just when I thought we’d get some rather character driven arc, with everyone trying to figure out Ange, this show throws that to the wind and decides to FLEX!

Ah! Summer season is gearing up! And what better way to start up than with something comfortable and reliable? I missed you Majestic Prince. Even if only for the span of a week. I missed your steadying, quality production. Now let’s get started. I’m anxious to see where the next three months of anime takes us.

Majestic Prince ep12: milk and honey makes friendships sticky and sweet

Well that was a nice fun romp. I was honestly worried that this was going to turn into mindless filler episode (though I’m not sure the word filler applies here). But episode twelve actually succeeded at being an interesting and entertaining source of character development.
