Check-in Station Dark Edition: Issue #4 (It’s not gay – it’s penis)
It’s time for my fourth blog post exclusively dedicated to the manga and anime too risque to go anywhere else. The red light district of the Check-in Station if you will. This time I get to enjoy the beginnings of a new breather in Nana to Kaoru, though I could do without a certain furry interloper. I try out a new yuri manga with one very stoic character and one giant moron… so you know, the standard manga relationship that I’ve seen forever. Yuria Hyaku Shiki tries things out “both ways”. We get to see a lot of adults in relationships do a fair amount of lying to each other. And I slowly learn that the need to go to the bathroom is a growing and disturbing fetish in Japan.
Here are the entries I’ll be covering this week in order:
- Nana to Kaoru ch68 & 69
- Hana to Hoshi ch1
- Yuria 100 Shiki ch57
- My Lovely Ghost Kana ch18
- Happy Negative Marriage ch5
- Liar’s Paradox ch3
- Recently, My Sister is Unusual ep2
Check-in Station: Sakura Trick ep1 (I can’t believe I’m saying this…)

DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: August 1st (It’s all about 7’s & bathhouses.)
Hello everybody! I’ve taken time out of watching women’s gymnastics (don’t ask), women’s volleyball (don’t ask), women’s swimming (don’t ask), and men’s basketball and the Olympics in general to bring back my “images of the week” posts. Since I came back from my hiatus, I’ve had trouble figuring things out. The straight forward part was catching up and finishing shows I was engaged with before I disappeared. I’m generally caught up with Fairy Tail and Gundam AGE. I’ve finished Symphogear (damn fun). And the showmen manga scene doesn’t move very briskly, so I’ve had no trouble keeping up there.
The real trouble comes with the new stuff, and the blog itself. Before I disappeared I had a plan, but right now it’s not so clear. I’ve made my attempts at episodic blogging. And while I enjoyed talking about certain shows up until a point, it’s very hard for me to push out thoughts that aren’t more than moldy unique from what I’ve said the week before on a series (Mouretsu Space Pirates, I blame you). And I. Definitely not the type to push out an editorial post twice a week. So for now, please bear with me as I figure things out. Right now, these special “images of the week” posts are the most comfortable and unique things I can push out. “Viva la Pervy Images of the Week!” Read more…
Check-in Station: Pervy Manga Review Pt. 2 (Bigger, Harder, Wetter, More Gay)
[Pervy Manga Review pt.1 (Spanking, Flashing & Wanking)]
It has been quite awhile since my last pervy manga update. But now feels like the right time. I’m starting new series and have completed a couple as well. It seems like the perfect time to get my thoughts in order and down on a blog post. Plus I’m sure everyone enjoys the pics. Here we go! Pervy Manga Review Pt. 2! Read more…
DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: Jan. 2nd (Happy New Year! …now put your pants back on.)
It’s amazing how some people choose to spend their first day of a new year. Some spend it in church. That’s understandable. Not my way mostly, but it’s still fine. I’ve had enough of midnight mass or church, it just feels weird to me. I’ll save my fellowship for daytime. *ahem!* The rant has ended. Then there are those people that choose to spend it with family, a personal favorite of mine. You can drink whatever you want with people who probably won’t rob you when you’ve passed out on the floor… or in the bathtub. Don’t ask. And you never have to worry about how you’re getting home with a BAC (blood alcohol content) that could very well be a Major League baseball player’s batting average, while avoiding police checkpoints.
Then there are who have to spend that time; the very waxing hours of the morning, the day, the year, at work. And depending on the profession, you have to spend that time with the a-holes who seem to choose to spend their first hours of 2012 in the hospital or jail. You morons make me sick and are the reason why I prefer to spend my waxing hours doing what I did, watching anime. The holiday vacation time is a good time to catch up on many things. I’m happy to say I caught up or started some nice material, and unlike the post I had there’s a much greater variety. So for those of you who, like me, enjoy all things anime, here are my anime, manga and pervy (hooray) images of the week. Read more…
DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: March 27th (My blog’s not dead, it’s napping!)
I’ve fielded quite a few questions on and off Twitter as to whether the status of my blog would be best conveyed through an obituary. Rest assured good readers that it is no more than a strange combination of bad timing, fatigue and work. And to prove it I’m coming back strong with more anime, manga & perviness than ever. But before I start I’d like to give my heartfelt condolences out to the people and Japan who are still enduring after the horrible disasters of earthquake, tsunami and a possible nuclear meltdown. I suggest anyone reading this find your nearest, reputable charity and put some effort into helping those people. I used Red Cross, you can use whatever you like. Every bit helps.
It feels a little awkward mentioning such a serious subject on my goofy little blog, but even a curmudgeon like me doesn’t mind helping this cause. Read more…
DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: December 5th (Big and Black; Long and Hard)
And by that title I mean it has been a long and hard week of watching anime. Lots of crying (from the characters in shows, not me), and panting, and beating, and farewells. Everything I watched and read seemed to be really intense and trying its best, with very few failures. The only real failure of mine was not watching OreImo. I just couldn’t do it. As much as I enjoy the supporting (and in this case I mean that quite literally) characters, Kirino sucks most any enthusiasm I have for the show right out of me. I just can’t seem to bring myself to sit down and deal with her. With that out of the way, time to move to the week in Japanese illustrated NERD. Read more…
DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: November 29th (There’s no limit on Pervy)
Last week of November and everything this FALL season seems to be in fine form. We pretty much know what shows are about and what shows we like; and what characters we gravitate towards and which one manage to churn the bile in our stomachs (Kirino I’m looking at you). And for now, I couldn’t be happier with what I’m getting. Despite my following way too many series at once, I still managed to get some manga reading done too. So let’s see what made the cut. DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: It’s so much easier for girls (Sept 12th)
A pattern has been revealed to me. Lately two shows have been fighting for my attention. One is obviously K-ON!!, which consistently is pulling my heartstrings, getting cuter and more emotional by the week. I didn’t think that could even be possible. The other is the dubious, infamous, ludicrous Highschool of the Dead. Which is making a habit of starting a new meme and sending anime fans into a murderous, rabid frenzy with each episode. Thank you God, that K-ON!! won out this week. Even a declaration of wetness couldn’t stop the juggernaut that is HTT. Read more…
