AniFriday Issue #18 (June 13th, 2014): there’s no “I” in team, and there’s no creepy monster in my mirrors anymore

Summer’s here!  And that means that I have more time to watch anime and read more manga!  Why?  It’s not because I’m out of school, I’ve been done with that forever.  It’s because my kids aren’t in school, so I don’t have to waste time picking them up and because I can get more sleep.  I don’t have to wake up four hours after going to bed to take care of business!  Couple that with the time I plan on spending at the beach and drinking more beer, and I’m thinking that I’m going to be in a much better mood over the next couple of months.

So this is an interesting predicament. How do I get so much enjoyment out of an episode, yet don’t want to continue watching the series? Oh boy, this is going to be a chore to explain.

Alright, we’re given the somewhat standard action show set up, as we’re thrown directly into a new unknown anime world for a new series.  Things are off to a rocking good start as

I’ve said this about other chapters before, I’ll repeat again. I
can’t wait to see this arc, and especially this chapter animated!
This show is always at its best when dragonslayers tangle. And when
Luxus is in any of the panels. And whenever we get to see Lucy, Erza
or any of the chicks with hot bodies…

What a fun episode! For awhile it looked liked we were going to get an all fun and games episode of the famous Fairy Tail fraternity faffing about. Which is fine by me, a contest with the hotties from Fairy Tail couldn’t be a bad idea to me in any circumstance. *fawns* Erza grabbed that gothic loli outfit and I died.
