Check-in Station: Blood Lad & Love Lab ep1
I’m getting buried here. And I’m really starting to wish some of these shows aired 3 months or six months earlier, when I didn’t have much to watch, or there wasn’t so much competition. Here are two shows that I took a peek at to see if I could my already swollen queue. Here goes Blood Lad and Love Lab. Yeah, I’m totally not gonna screw up these titles at all. Read more…
Check-in Station: Valvrave ep1 (oh Sunrise… oh Sunrise)
Let’s get this straight immediately. I WILL not be able to go through this post, or any post involving this show without mentioning Gundam at some point. I try not to compare series directly to other series too much, but when a show like this comes from Sunrise, and they ape the setup for a Gundam series this hard, it’s impossible. Valvrave (this may be hard to consistently spell correctly) the Liberator, let’s go. Read more…
DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: March 23rd (Because after Dark Souls I need something to make me feel better.)
Off my ass again to do another images of the week post. My excuse for the delay this time? Mass Effect 3 and getting my curb stomped by Dark Souls over and over… and over …and over again. Don’t get me wrong, I’m making progress, but you can’t play that game without suffering, despair… and a healthy dose of spontaneously cursing because you screwed up, or the game screw you. So when all is lost, I completely shut down the PS3 & boot up the anime. Games nowadays have a way of telling you you’ve been playing for too long. They tell you you need to stop and get out of the house. You don’t need that with Dark Souls. Granted you haven’t spiked your controller, you’ll walk away on your own, eventually. But enough about that. Anime and manga, that’s all I’m concerned about right now. Here are my usual, but hardly consistently weekly anymore, images of the week! Read more…
Check-in Station: Shiki eps 1-12 (without horrible hair you have no chance at the afterlife)
Apparently, while I was sh*tting on Highschool of the Dead and its LOL-ability, there was another show that was getting just as popular and receiving much more respectable praise. That show is Shiki. The name for the show I’m just now understanding. And the praise it received I came in wondering if it could possibly be warranted for a show about supernaturals. A concept that could be as awesome (Vampire Hunter D) as it could be weak and half-baked (Ookami Kakushi & Vampire Bund). I wonder what category this show will end up in? Read more…
