Check-in Station: Mid-Season Review (Spring 2013)
This has been quite honestly, my most successful season since I started blogging. I’ve watched several anime before, but I wasn’t attempting to write about all of them on an episode by episode basis. Even better yet, I used to just watch a series in bulk. I’d either get a DVD or find a batch of files and watch until I got tired, or I ran out of material. The only time that ever backfired was when I was watching the original Code Geass (why would they have a six month break between episode 23 and the end of the series?!). Now I’m watching seven (maybe eight) series at the moment, and their pretty much all to the halfway point. So instead of doing a “Check-in” post on all seven, I’m gonna give the run down for the majority in one post, right here. That way I can get on with whatever other projects I’m working on at the moment.
Now then, let’s get started. I’ll do this in whatever random order I choose. I will not be assigning score or rank. I will just be assigning opinions. Read more…
DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: November 29th (There’s no limit on Pervy)
Last week of November and everything this FALL season seems to be in fine form. We pretty much know what shows are about and what shows we like; and what characters we gravitate towards and which one manage to churn the bile in our stomachs (Kirino I’m looking at you). And for now, I couldn’t be happier with what I’m getting. Despite my following way too many series at once, I still managed to get some manga reading done too. So let’s see what made the cut. Check-in Station: Ore no Imouto eps 1-5 (my little sister can never know I watched this show)
I have a very love/hate relationship toward tsunderes; I suppose you can say I’m tsundere for tsunderes. Some of my most loved and loathed characters have fallen under that category. While I couldn’t stand Kanami Chidori (Full Metal Panic!), I grew to love Taiga Aisaka (Toradora!). You won’t find a tsundere whose show I’ve watched that I’m ambivalent towards. They tend to be the thing that determines whether I love or hate a show. So when I watched the first episode of Ore Imo (I’ll call it that from now on because the real, full name is too damn long) Kirino left a strong impression on me and my opinion of this show has wavered depending on her actions and motivations ever since. Through a DVD’s worth of episodes, does this show come closer to me being dere dere or tsun tsun for it? Read more…
