Check-in Station Special: The World God Only Knows ep7 (twenty minutes as a Kanon fanboy)
I watched easily the best episode of The World God Only Knows last night. It absolutely amazed me that they fleshed out Kanon’s arc so well. It’s been roughly 2 years since I’ve read her arc, so that helped out in the surprise department as well. It absolutely touched on the feelings I had reading it and I think enhanced it as well. Maybe I just became one of those silly male fanboys at her concert, chanting her name and where silly robes covered with her name, but it was a magical moment seeing her overcome her very nagging, annoying, self-destructive hangups and rise into a shining star. Easily a 5/5 for me and one of my favorite episodes of the year. Read more…
Check-out Station: Oretama (I love “My Balls”)
For me, the original pervy manga is Oretama. It is the standard by which I judge all other pervy manga. A pinnacle of humor, ecchi & just enough heart. And honestly, the name and the innevitable puns that follow don’t hurt its enjoyment either. Read more…
Check-in Station: DKJ’s annual Harem Hall-of-Fame Induction
One of my favorite and most popular posts before I started my own blog was my Top 20 Anime Chicks posts. It was a list that included those who believed were the hottest most desirable anime women I’ve come across in my years of watching anime. But there are a lot of anime coming out all the time, and with the popularity of ecchi and moe series there are always new hotties coming up. So I decided I’m going to add someone new to my list. It will be a hall of fame of my favorite anime chicks. Read more…
Check-out Station: Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou (“The Decadence of Akuto”)
I’m not a big fan of the now popular twelve to thirteen episode format of most anime adaptations. It works well for certain types of shows. Comedies and incomplete manga adaptations get a more fair shot at showing their true potential in this format. But too often I feel like there aren’t enough slow, enjoyable moments for the characters to develop and distinguish themselves. It’s a good thing that this show is such a fun, senseless ride that you don’t really notice. Read more…
Check-out Station: Ladies versus Butlers! (the “Every Female in this show needs to be in my harem” Edition)
Xebec is starting to develop a brand of something I’m willing buy. And that’s outrageous comedic ecchi with voluptuous girls and pleasing art. I loved Read more…
