Gundam AGE ep45: the one-eyed dragon.
This was pretty straightforward episode. I’m pretty sure there were at least ten minutes of lasers firing, recycled animation and close ups of Zeheart’s pretty, but unfortunately helmeted face. I’m sure they saved a fortune on this episode. But that doesn’t mean that I still wasn’t entertained. It was a welcome change of pace from the Asuno family conflicts, Ezelcant’s babble of perfect humans and an Earthly Eden, and the usual crap about bits, funnels and the sort. Just a lot of action and joy of seeing Zeheart struggle for once. Read more…
Gundam AGE ep44: dripping with hyperbole, like chocolate syrup on a delusional sundae.
I’ve never hid my dislike for Zeheart Gallette, nor will I start now. But I will state that I’m trying to be fair. Something that doesn’t really come up very often in the show in regards to him. I think he’s fairly assessed as an outstanding pilot and a charismatic and likable personality. But I think he’s unfairly assessed as a great commander (by the people in the show) and competent judge of character. And at his core, I don’t find Zeheart to have much of a personality. But this episode was the episode that I sat back and honestly hoped that he would make the right decision. The moral one. Or at least put up a fight. Can you guess how he handled it? Read more…
Check-in Station: Gundam AGE ep29 & 30 (you call this a crew?!)
You gotta give it up to Flit Asuno, the man is PREPARED! Asemu and now Kio have had the best set ups as Gundam pilots EVER! But while the Asuno family has their act together, there’s clearly not enough people like them in the Federation. Well, not to sound like a Zeke, but Feddies will be useless incompetent Feddies afterall! Welcome to the final age, where lessons are learned, but not everyone attends class. Read more…
Check-in Station: Gundam AGE ep28 (a NOT kinder, gentler Federation)
So I’ve finally finished the second AGE of Gundam AGE, and now I won’t be AGES behind everyone else watching this series…. OK, that was terrible. Let’s get on with this.
Anyone who says burning passion is for youth has never met Flit Asuno. The man is the definition of “squared away” and driven. I believe that this second AGE was as much a set up for him as the man who decides the Vagan nation’s ultimate fate, as it was about Asemu’s coming-of-age. Read more…
Check-in Station: Gundam AGE ep18 (Veigan hamburgers flavored with Regret.)
Looks like playtime is over. I mean that literally. I suppose that could be said once anyone takes up a blade, gun or whatever weapon they may have. But this little arc has effectively shaken all of the main characters lives up in a irreversible way. It seems like the creative team doesn’t want to play around at all. There will be no mystery as to who is facing who or why. The pilots already know each other quite well, and the maiden is already quite heartbroken. This is Gundam AGE, and it’s a show that keeps on schedule. Read more…
Gundam AGE ep16: not a bad start. Asemu’s more well-adjusted than I expected.
Flit has a simmering and focused hatred. Emily is as forgettable as ever. Vargas is still old and fat, matter of fact he’s older and fatter (uh duh!). And I could have sworn that was Largan in that antique mobile suit. Or whoever that guy is inside, he has Largan’s luck. But the second “age” isn’t gonna be about these guys, so let’s move on.
