DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: January 16th (I apologize.)

It’s a bit of a hodge-podge, but I’ve pieced together my images of the week, my first of the year.  And something has quickly made itself clear to me.  Even though I decided to mostly forgo the Winter 2011 season, at least in the beginning it has shown me that it’s not as easy to ignore or cut and dry as I expected.  Looks like I’m gonna have a harder time juggling my anime than I thought.

Anime Images of the Week

Technically I’m including 2 weeks worth of anime in this, but I couldn’t overlook all the fun I had finishing Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger.  That Takamura vs Hawk fight was something any violence loving anime fan should see.  Star Driver being one of the lone holdovers from last season is only getting better in my eyes as it starts to tease less and give up more of the goods.  If I was dating this series then I would definitely say it is about time for it to “put out”.  There are some interesting theories being thrown around for that show right now.

On the good old shounen front, I took a peek at the former king, Dragonball Kai; and then the current king, One Piece.  While I still am a little bitchy about the show not being reanimated, I greatly enjoyed peeking into the Cell Games arc and seeing the much improved pacing.  I hated all the idiocy that was peppered throughout those fights.  It ruined some moments for me.  The next episode will be the REAL Goku versus Cell fight.  One of the best fights in all of Dragonball in my opinion, with one of the coolest moves in the genre.

And as for the Winter 2011 anime, I think I’m falling into the same trap that I fell into with the Fall 2010 anime.  Way too much interesting stuff for me to realistically keep up with.  So some stuff will definitely get overlooked or ignored.  The shows I’m gonna fight to keep up with though are Madoka Magica (already found myself a lovely character to fawn over); Kore wa Zombie Desu ka? or as I’ll be calling it from now on, Pink Chainsaw♥ (a clusterf*ck of an anime, but still interesting in a very weird way); Dream Eater Merry (a show I didn’t get to in time to post a pic, but has a soundtrack and atmosphere that keeps me interested) and Infinite Stratos (a show that I’m clinging onto for the singular reason of loving mecha).  The now sadly almost standard faux incest anime Onii-chan no Koto nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!! (Onii-chan for short) may end up being my seasonal pervy anime, but it’s a bit too damn ugly to give it that honor.  I have to pull a show out of reserve to fill that need.

Manga Images of the Week

My manga reading habits are so inconsistent it’s sad.  I claim diversity in my reading, but the only thing reliable is that I’ll be reading the Big 3 weekly and Claymore once a month.  I’ll keep it quick and concise though so don’t worry.  Claymore is merely a continuation of the arc, or the transition to another one.  I’m still trying to forget the incident with Miria.  One Piece has some hot fortune telling shark lady action going on, and I’m quite pleased to learn that one of the Four (now Three I suppose) Emperors is on the island.  Naruto continues with its zombie war, but now we got zombie summoning other zombies (really?  How do you not explain that resurrection jutsu as anything less than complete haxxor?).  And finally Bleach is taking its sweet time as always trying to get us to a place where we get more answers than questions.  I don’t really enjoy these new abilities these new antagonists have, but if it gives me some answers and good fight, then that’s all I care about.

Pervy Images of the Week

I think this might be the ugliest, most unappealing iteration of the Pervy Images of the Week  that I’ve ever had.  And I apologize for that.  It’s not my fault, it’s just that I watched a show with a zombie man in striped panties (what a nasty surprise) and a show with some of the ugliest character designs I’ve seen in quite awhile.  It really does feel lik they took a monkey, dressed her up, tucked her tail in a pair of panties and called her Nao.  But it’s pervy so it has to be in there.  Add to that some imagined yaoi and you would be safe in saying that I’m not going to be revisiting this collage again anytime soon.

The good thing about this week though is that I got some good pics to go along with all the perviness.  It’s quite appropriate actually.  By the way, that pic at the top far left is the only thing I could use that would even possibly convey how horrible the pervy things were that were coming out of Hawk’s mouth in Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger.  What a horrible American stereotype!

Well that’s it for this week, next week I’m hoping for some more varied manga reading, as usual; a better grasp of all these new anime coming out and some pervy images that don’t suck!  See you guys later.
