Check-in Station: A Perfect Opportunity to go visit Chiyo-chan’s Summer Home (how I wish I was a rich little Japanese schoolgirl)

I’m hot, I’m NOT happy and my AC is dead!  Good thing I’m away from the house I can get some things off my chest.   I don’t particulary care for summer, or heat.  The haze of burning asphault; the burning sand between my toes; the burning sun burning my steering wheel; burning my seats and burning my face in my car.  Seriously summer, f*ck you.   I will say this though.  Anime characters always make the best of it.  And rich little Japanese girls have the best of it.

It doesn’t take much for me to notice a pattern, especially one this prevalent.   The pattern is that when anime characters go to the beach, awesome things happen!  I go to the beach and I see a lot of fat and/or old people.   They go to the good beaches and see lots of svelte, sexy people.  I go to the beach with food and the sand mucks it up, or the uppity locals enact laws to make me buy their overpriced, overfried junkfood. In anime, they have it so good they can waste food.   Have you seen how many watermelons have been destroyed in a season of anime? Damn! They have it good.

Not only do they have better beaches, have you seen their summer homes?  Rich girls get mansions!   Mansions off of cliffs overlooking the entire ocean, with not another house in sight.   Even when I watch House Hunters (there, now you know my dirty little secret) seven digits isn’t enough to get you that sort of land and privacy.  Oh yeah, they have it good.

So while I sit here, dreading my return to an unairconditioned home, I reflect on how much fun I could have on a clean pristine Japanese beach.  Bat in one hand, watermelon in the other, and surrounded by friends.  Sucking in the nice, fresh air and relishing the abandonment of my worries and fears.  Hey, heat can do crazy things to a man.   So that’s why I say once, just this once… I wish I was a rich little Japanese schoolgirl.

Update: since the time in which I originally wrote this post, the air conditioner has been fixed.  I’m cooler, happier, and more sane.  My desire to visit a Japanese beach, however, has not diminished.

This design is incredible! You obviously know how
to keep a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved
to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Excellent job.
I really loved what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.

    Too cool!
