It’s getting well into January and I realized that I couldn’t drag things out bit by bit until February roared around and decided to streamline my end of year awards. Let me just say that if your show didn’t make it more than likely I just didn’t get around to seeing it… or I hated it. And that being said, this can’t be called definitive in any way. Like all my blog entries I’m really just archiving my thoughts and experiences to look back on at a later time. Regardless, here’s what I most enjoyed about 2010 in delicious All-American list form. Fall 2010 of the anime season was the first (and probably only) season of material I tried to follow almost completely as it aired. Some may call it ambitious, I call it a f*cking chore (sorry, I watched Zero Punctuation before writing this so I may be a little “snarky” i.e. a bitch!). But regardless I had a lot of fun, watched plenty of quality anime, and some horrid ones as well. And normally I do goodbye post for every series I complete. And normally I’d have time to do that. But, and let me count, ….. ELEVEN anime means nearly eleven posts (obviously several are still ongoing) and I just don’t have the time. Not to mention the then ongoing series that completed at or near the end of the season. So I decided to roll everything up into one fat, American mega post and give a mini-Check-out for each and every one of these series. Here we go! Read more…

This series has been nothing but a series of tests for Kyousuke in reference to
his love for his sister. And it’s gone beyond anything I can stand. At one
point I actually thought she would tone down and get off her brother’s back for
a bit. So I actually thought his “last” counseling for her was worth the
effort. He even ran into another poor fool like him. By the way, it’s
incredibly sad that not only do some people think Kyousuke has an incestuous
attraction to his sister, now we got some people thinking he likes “homos”. Read more…

Last week of November and everything this FALL season seems to be in fine form. We pretty much know what shows are about and what shows we like; and what characters we gravitate towards and which one manage to churn the bile in our stomachs (Kirino I’m looking at you). And for now, I couldn’t be happier with what I’m getting. Despite my following way too many series at once, I still managed to get some manga reading done too. So let’s see what made the cut. Another successful week of absorbing the drippings on Japan’s animated culture, another week of joy. And I think one thing is truly clear. Panty and Stocking rule the day (I mean week)! Read more…

I have a very love/hate relationship toward tsunderes; I suppose you can say I’m tsundere for tsunderes. Some of my most loved and loathed characters have fallen under that category. While I couldn’t stand Kanami Chidori (Full Metal Panic!), I grew to love Taiga Aisaka (Toradora!). You won’t find a tsundere whose show I’ve watched that I’m ambivalent towards. They tend to be the thing that determines whether I love or hate a show. So when I watched the first episode of Ore Imo (I’ll call it that from now on because the real, full name is too damn long) Kirino left a strong impression on me and my opinion of this show has wavered depending on her actions and motivations ever since. Through a DVD’s worth of episodes, does this show come closer to me being dere dere or tsun tsun for it? Read more…
