DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: March 23rd (Because after Dark Souls I need something to make me feel better.)

Off my ass again to do another images of the week post.  My excuse for the delay this time?  Mass Effect 3 and getting my curb stomped by Dark Souls over and over… and over …and over again.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m making progress, but you can’t play that game without suffering, despair… and a healthy dose of spontaneously cursing because you screwed up, or the game screw you.  So when all is lost, I completely shut down the PS3 & boot up the anime.  Games nowadays have a way of telling you you’ve been playing for too long.  They tell you you need to stop and get out of the house.  You don’t need that with Dark Souls.  Granted you haven’t spiked your controller, you’ll walk away on your own, eventually.  But enough about that.  Anime and  manga, that’s all I’m concerned about right now.  Here are my usual, but hardly consistently weekly anymore, images of the week!

It has been quite awhile since my last pervy manga update.  But now feels like the right time.  I’m starting new series and have completed a couple as well.  It seems like the perfect time to get my thoughts in order and down on a blog post.  Plus I’m sure everyone enjoys the pics.  Here we go!  Pervy Manga Review Pt. 2!

DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: Jan. 2nd (Happy New Year! …now put your pants back on.)

It’s amazing how some people choose to spend their first day of a new year.  Some spend it in church.  That’s understandable.  Not my way mostly, but it’s still fine.  I’ve had enough of midnight mass or church, it just feels weird to me.  I’ll save my fellowship for daytime.  *ahem!*  The rant has ended.  Then there are those people that choose to spend it with family, a personal favorite of mine.  You can drink whatever you want with people who probably won’t rob you when you’ve passed out on the floor… or in the bathtub.  Don’t ask.  And you never have to worry about how you’re getting home with a BAC (blood alcohol content) that could very well be a Major League baseball player’s batting average, while avoiding police checkpoints.

Then there are who have to spend that time; the very waxing hours of the morning, the day, the year, at work.  And depending on the profession, you have to spend that time with the a-holes who seem to choose to spend their first hours of 2012 in the hospital or jail.  You morons make me sick and are the reason why I prefer to spend my waxing hours doing what I did, watching anime.  The holiday vacation time is a good time to catch up on many things.  I’m happy to say I caught up or started some nice material, and unlike the post I had there’s a much greater variety.  So for those of you who, like me, enjoy all things anime,  here are my anime, manga and pervy (hooray) images of the week.

DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: March 27th (My blog’s not dead, it’s napping!)

I’ve fielded quite a few questions on and off Twitter as to whether the status of my blog would be best conveyed through an obituary.  Rest assured good readers that it is no more than a strange combination of bad timing, fatigue and work.  And to prove it I’m coming back strong with more anime, manga & perviness than ever.  But before I start I’d like to give my heartfelt condolences out to the people and Japan who are still enduring after the horrible disasters of earthquake, tsunami and a possible nuclear meltdown.  I suggest anyone reading this find your nearest, reputable charity and put some effort into helping those people.  I used Red Cross, you can use whatever you like.  Every bit helps.

It feels a little awkward mentioning such a serious subject on my goofy little blog, but even a curmudgeon like me doesn’t mind helping this cause.

DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: January 30th (Giant Mermaid Win-ness)

 

It’s almost February and I think I’m getting a bit of cabin fever and the winter “BLAHS”.  Couple that with me still being in Madoka Magica mourning, and you’ll see why I’m a bit less than peppy (insert barrel roll joke).  Don’t get me wrong, the anime and manga coming out week to week is excellent.  I just need a splash of sunlight and a good vacation.  Regardless, my mood didn’t affect my enjoyment of the excellent manga and anime I watched this week.

DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week: December 5th (Big and Black; Long and Hard)

And by that title I mean it has been a long and hard week of watching anime.  Lots of crying (from the characters in shows, not me), and panting, and beating, and farewells.  Everything I watched and read seemed to be really intense and trying its best, with very few failures.  The only real failure of mine was not watching OreImo.   I just couldn’t do it.  As much as I enjoy the supporting (and in this case I mean that quite literally) characters, Kirino sucks most any enthusiasm I have for the show right out of me.  I just can’t seem to bring myself to sit down and deal with her.  With that out of the way, time to move to the week in Japanese illustrated NERD.

DonKangolJones’ Images of the Week (August 22nd)

Another glorious week of anime and manga.  I wasn’t disappointed at all.  I have to admit though, I came across generous amount of yuri enjoying the material this week.  I’m not bragging or anything, but expect this week to be especially gay.

Given most of my postings and favorites, I can forgive people for thinking most of what I watch is shounen fight anime, mecha and cutesy moe filled goodness.  But I’m more diverse than that, and I always encourage people to do the same.

I  haven’t done my Images of the Week updates in awhile, so I’ve got quite a bit of catching up to do.  But the time off did give me a little time to think.  I’m still gonna shove my collages into this post with some small descriptors.  But the title image will be the image I pick as the cream-of-the-crop.  The very best, or at least, my favorite image from all the material in the week.  Or in this case, pretty much the past month.  Enjoy.

This week’s Images of the Week (SissKiss, Love Devils and Angel Frog Pandering)

This was a pretty good week for anime when it came to action.   Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Katanagatari and Shippuuden are all impressing right now.   Angel Beats is a hot confused mess right now, but it still keeps me interested.
